Scary stats: Picture traffic to double on Halloween?
Sprint says Halloween is by far the most popular day for its Picture Mail, and there was a 64 percent increase in traffic from October 31 2007 to the same day in 2008, when millions of users sent photos.
This year, because Halloween falls on a Saturday, Sprint expects traffic to double with photos of trick-or-treaters, partygoers, and smashed jack-o-lanterns
“Don’t lose a single memory – aim your mobile phone, snap, hit send – and continue to enjoy the evening without worrying if the photo got to Aunt Betty,” Sprint says. “Customers can fearlessly take photos or record videos on their wireless devices – all night long.”
Headquartered in Overland Park, Kan., Sprint Nextel claims almost 49 million customers at the end of the second quarter of 2009.
Sprint says its 3G network is named most reliable among major U.S. carriers in a 13-city test by PC World.
