Android gets Adobe imaging app

San Jose, Calif.-based Adobe Systems is providing a new free version of its Photoshop.com Mobile software, which less than a month debuted on the iPhone, and now make its way to Android, Google’s mobile phone operating system.

Photo Browser

“Photoshop.com Mobile is a great resource to edit, upload and share photos in a few short moments,” Adobe says. “It’s the perfect complement to the mobile phone cameras found on Android devices.” Photoshop.com Mobile optimizes the camera-phone experience by allowing users to browse for their photos online and on their phone, directly from the application, the company says.

It offers “quick and easy image-editing tools, color adjustments and photo-sharing capabilities.” Tools include crop, rotate and flip. There is also a Soft Focus filter, and color adjustments such as exposure, saturation, tint changes and black-and-white.

After making edits on their Android device, users can upload photos from their phone to their Photoshop.com account to view and retrieve their images at a later time from any Internet-connected computer. Photoshop.com accounts provide 2GB of free online photo storage.

The application is free and available today at the Android Market.
