New Camera Phones from HP, Cricket, Samsung

The newest smart phone from HP has a 3-megapixel camera, PhotoSmart Mobil software to edit and manage photos, and easy uploads to HP’s Snapfish service. The iPAQ Glisten features a 2.5-inch active-matrix organic LED resistive-touch display. It runs the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS. It also has a full keyboard, GPS, and Wi-Fi. The phone measures 4.45 by 2.48 by 0.52 inches, and will be offered in the US by AT&T for about $180.

Samsung’s Omnia II is also a Windows Mobile smart phone, but this one packs a 5-megapixel camera with flash, auto-focus, and video capture. It has a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen, and will sell for $200 from Verizon.

Cricket Communications’ MSGM8 (pronounced Message Mate) offers “one-touch access to messaging and email,” the company says. The $100 model has a full keypad and a 2.2-inch display — but just a mere 1-megapixel camera. Cricket is headquartered in San Diego, Calif.
