Fujifilm to launch new retail lab products at PMA 2010

Fujifilm's new GetPix II kiosk offers automatic folding and binding for on demand, Fun books, Fun cards, and Fun calendars.

Fujifilm North America Corp., Valhalla, N.Y., will unveil several new retail systems at PMA 2010, Feb. 21-23, 2010, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California.

Fujifilm’s new GetPix II is a cutting edge kiosk solution making it easier than ever before for consumers to instantly create fun products with their digital images. This latest edition to Fujifilm’s GetPix kiosk line-up offers a duplex print solution complete with a finisher that is capable of automatically folding and binding for on demand, Fun books, Fun cards, and Fun calendars. Consumers are empowered to design and instantly produce fun products and share their images with a new level of creativity.

The fully automated GetPix II combines Xerography printing technology and Fujifilm’s proprietary Image Intelligence Technology to create high quality output. In addition to 4-by-6-inch prints, it can instantly produce finished and folded Fun books, Fun cards, and Fun calendars ranging in sizes from 6-by-6 up to 5.5-by-8.5 inches. This system, when combined with Fujifilm’s ASK 2500 and ASK 4000 dye sublimation printers, becomes a complete instant kiosk solution.

The GetPix II will be available in summer 2010.

Also new is Fujifilm’s Multi-Service Kiosk concept, a unique photo printing and prepaid service solution designed to expand the number of products available from a single kiosk terminal. The Multi-Service Kiosk is ideal for all retailers in search of driving additional revenue streams and offering more to their customers without using additional floor space.

In addition to offering customers high-quality 4-by-6 inch prints, the new Multi-Service Kiosk allows consumers to pay for domestic and international bills, prepaid tolls and cellular plans. Consumers can also place orders for ring-tones, music, and event tickets all from the same kiosk.  These additional products are provided through a partnership with PinServe LLC. Together, Fujifilm and PinServe provide a seamless integration of software, hardware, and backend services for the management and distribution of prepaid products and photo prints.

Fujifilm will also showcase a series of new instant print kiosk technologies at PMA 2010. Advances this year include the new GetPix F7 kiosk terminal with Fujifilm’s new kiosk software, GetPix Version 5.0. In addition, Fujifilm will introduce the new ASK 2500 6-inch dye sublimation printer and its new Quality Thermal Photo Paper.

Fujifilm’s new GetPix F7 kiosk terminal and GetPix Version 5.0 software provide a simplified order process along with Fujifilm’s proprietary Image Intelligence technology for exceptional print quality. Together, these latest innovations offer a new and improved user interface that enables consumers to order photo products ranging from high quality standard prints and enlargements to duplex photo books and assorted gift items. Plus, the flexibility of GetPix Version 5.0 kiosk terminal software can be configured for any Fujifilm kiosk or Frontier Solution.

For instant prints, Fujifilm’s ASK 2500 dye sublimation printer can produce a variety of print sizes from 4-by-6, 5-by-7, and 6-by-9 inches with a maximum print speed of 6.9 seconds per 4-by-6 print. It provides exceptional photo quality with Fujifilm’s new Quality Thermal Photo Paper. The paper is manufactured through a proprietary coating technology process that requires virtually no polluting organic solvents.  The paper has increased whiteness and a glossier finish, and has reduced static which improves consumer handling of prints.

The new Frontier Dry Minilab DL450 from Fujifilm produces prints, enlargements, duplex photo books and assorted gift items.

Additionally, Fujifilm announced the latest addition to Fujifilm Expanding Frontier Solutions, the Frontier Dry Minilab DL450. The Frontier DL450 is designed to handle a variety of print jobs big and small, with prints speeds of up to 950 4-by-6 inches prints per hour and print sizes of up to 12-by-36. The dual roll paper capability of the Frontier DL450 allows printing of multiple sizes or surfaces for increased efficiency and production which can be optimize

d the diverse needs of retail, commercial, and professional markets.

The Frontier DL450 is powered by Fujifilm’s Frontier Workflow Management Software “MS” with integrated Image Intelligence Technology. Fujifilm’s “MS” software efficiently manages order fulfillment and can drive multiple output devices in Fujifilm’s Expanding Frontier Solutions.

For over 75 years, Fujifilm has been at the forefront of developing and improving image quality through Fujifilm’s proprietary Image Intelligence Technology, which optimizes images to ensure the consistent high quality prints that customers expect from Fujifilm’s Frontier solutions.

Additional capabilities and features of the the Frontier DL450 include:

  • 950 4-by-6-inch prints per hour and 310 8”x10” prints per hour
  • Print sizes from 3.5-by-5 to 12-by-6 inches
  • Two-line back printing capability (up to 80 characters)
  • 12 order sorter (maximum size 6-by-10 inches/50sheet)
  • Dual paper magazine

By utilizing Fujifilm’s Image Intelligence, dye ink components, and Fujifilm’s High Quality Dry Photo Papers, the Frontier DL450 produces high quality Frontier prints. A piezoelectric inkjet printing system produces high quality images on glossy or luster roll paper.

Fujifilm’s Frontier Dry Minilab DL450 will be available in the second quarter of 2010.
