3D online store opens

The online store www.3dvirtualstore.com opened for business yesterday, “the only 3D virtual store to offer the latest in 3D digital cameras for stills and video and 3D digital viewers for 2D and 3D content, without glasses,” according to Dan Adam, general manager.

The China-manufactured 3D cameras and viewers it’s handling have been distributed for the past two years world-wide, he notes. There’s a 3D HD still and video camera coming this summer for which he’s taking pre-orders.

Adam says the 2D-to-3D software he’s offering pro photographers, stores and labs download for free lets the user transfer existing 2D images to 3D files for 3D lenticular printing on an inkjet printer. The size of the print is determined only by the printer’s capabilities. The cost per 3D print is only slightly higher than a 2D print, but the quality and the “wow” factor is unbeatable, he adds.

It’s a new business opportunity, he notes.

He says the software lets you change the picture background without being an expert in Photoshop or using a green screen.

Operating out of Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada, the 3D Virtual Store is a subsidiary of www.web2mediaglobal.com, a Canadian graphic design studio.
