Costco reports January sales up 11 percent

Costco Wholesale Corp., Issaquah, Wash., reported net sales of $7 billion for the month of January, the four weeks ended Jan. 29, 2012, an increase of 11 percent from $6.30 billion during the similar period last year. For the first twenty-two-weeks of its reporting period Costco’s net sales were up 11 percent to $40.18 billion.
