Image buyers blog begins

An new blog for image buyers will provide news and tips, educational articles, and interviews with respected industry players.

Visual Connections produced networking image expos in New York and Chicago. “Buyers of images and footage operate in many unconnected industries, from advertising through publishing and merchandising to movies,” the firm says of its new effort. “Yet image buyers all share similar challenges and interests: from understanding copyright and licensing, to figuring what tools and strategies to use to find the right imagery. Although there’s a plethora of material out there aimed at designers, there is relatively little high quality, impartial information and discussion about issues of specific relevance to image buyers.”

The blog launches with posts on

- The Necessity of Networking (Social and Otherwise) by Michael Masterson;

- A camera for your computer’s screen, Brantlea Newbery on Skitch;

- A Decisive Road for Evolve Images, by ASPP Executive Director Jain Lemos

- The Instagram Effect, by Ophelia Chong.
