Ten Ritz/Wolf Camera shops reopening under new owners

The Colorado Springs Gazette reports Boulder-based Mike’s Camera is expanding from three locations in the Boulder-Denver area into five former Wolf Camera locations in Colorado and another five in Northern California — all previously operated by Ritz Camera & Image, Wolf’s parent company.

Ritz filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this summer, and closed 137 stores. Mike’s Camera, founded in 1967, says it is “actually doing great.” Mike’s Camera did not buy inventory from Ritz, but is hiring “much of the former staff,” the Gazette reports.
