High-speed robot shoots unique advertising

Watching these videos made me hungry: A team of German photography and advertising experts custom-made a motion control robotic camera arm that pivots and zooms at super-fast speeds in precisely planned and measured movements.

The robot, named Spike, produces stunning footage of, well, beer being poured in slow motion, or molten chocolate flowing over a candy bar. Hey, it’s advertising, not science. Impressive nonetheless. And it lead me to eating some chocolate myself. Advertising works…

Photographer Chase Jarvis posts about the boutique shop, The Marmalade, with two engrossing videos here. For more of their work, see their video “The Beauty of High Speed” here.
