Best Good Motherboards For Ryzen 9 5900x

Ryzen 9 is a high-end processor which is being used by gamers and overclockers. It is the successor of the ryzen 7 2700x which is a great processor. You can read my review of Ryzen 7 2700x here. This processor was created with two goals in mind- gaming and overclocking. The first goal was easily achieved, but overclocking it was a different story. I will be describing the process of overclocking ryzen 9 and the results I got in this review (in case anyone wants to try it).

Buying Guide For The good motherboards for ryzen 9 5900x

  1. The first thing you need to do is decide on the motherboard you want to buy. There are a lot of options out there, so it can be hard to decide. You can choose from AMD’s X470 chipset motherboards or the more expensive A500X chipset motherboards. The main difference between these two is the number of USB ports on the board, and how many SATA ports there are. Usually, the A500X will have more USB ports, but fewer SATA ports than an X470 board. It all depends on what you need and what you want to spend your money on.
  2. The next thing you will need to do is check out which features your motherboard has, such as USB 3.1 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 3 support or SLI/Crossfire support, etc. This will depend on your budget and what features you would like supported in your system (or if it supports any at all).

At this stage, I would recommend looking at other reviews online if possible as they will tell you which motherboards have been tested with ryzen 9 processor and how well they did in testing (usually by overclocking). In my opinion, it is best to get a good-quality board that has all these features as it will be used for many years to come and you may need more PCI-E power connectors in the future.

When looking at a motherboard I also recommend looking at the number of USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports as well- this is because some motherboards only have one USB 3.1 Gen 2 port and others have two (this can be changed later). This is a good thing to look for as you may need more than one port in the future for your system (such as an M.2 SSD).
