5 Things You Must Know While Choosing The Best Nclex Study Guide

  1. The Test Is Computer Based

The test is computer-based, which means that you will be sitting in front of a computer screen. All the questions will be displayed on the screen, and you have to choose your answers from the options that appear on the screen. You cannot use any other material to answer the questions.

  1. The Test Has No Negative Marking

The test has no negative marking, which means that if you give an incorrect answer, then you lose no marks for it. However, if you do not attempt a question at all, then it will be treated as incorrect and will not be evaluated. This is because there is no negative marking in this test, and so it does not matter how many wrong answers you give but what matters is how many correct answers you give out of a total number of questions asked in the exam. So, attempt every question with all your heart and mind, as one wrong answer can spoil your chances of passing or failing this exam.

  1. You Can Attempt At Least 75 Questions In 150 Minutes

The allotted time for each section of NCLEX-RN is 150 minutes (90 minutes for each part), excluding breaks which may last up to 30 minutes or so depending upon when they are scheduled by Pearson VUE (the company that conducts NCLEX-RN). You can attempt at least 75 questions during this time period if all goes well but remember that once the time reaches 0:00, then your exam gets automatically terminated and cannot be restarted. So, it is quite important to manage your time well.

  1. The Test Is Scored Based On Your Accuracy And Speed

The test is scored based on your accuracy and speed as well as your performance level in each of the four sections of the exam. You are required to answer all questions within the time given to you for each section, and you will not be allowed to move on to the next section until all questions in the current section get evaluated. The more correctly you answer questions, the more points you will score, and the better will be your chances of passing this exam.

  1. There Are No Hidden Traps In The Exam

There are no hidden traps in NCLEX-RN, which means that there are no negative or wrong answers in this test. You have to choose one of the options provided for each question but do not choose an option just because it looks easier or because it seems correct at first glance, or because you think that choosing it might increase your chances of passing this exam because that is a big mistake which can spoil your chances of passing this exam. Always remember that if any option looks incorrect, then there must be a reason behind it and so never hurry into selecting an option simply because it looks correct at first glance but always take your time and think about all possible options before selecting one for evaluation just like a doctor would do when he/she is treating patients.

Final Word

The above tips and tricks should prove to be quite helpful in passing NCLEX-RN as you will be able to manage the time given to you for each section of the exam and will also be able to answer all questions correctly and within the allotted time.
